Registering takes less than 10 minutes and requires no blood draw, needles, or surgery. In fact it's easier than you think: it takes just four simple cotton swabs and a questionnaire form!
However, before registering, please take a moment to learn more about what the bone marrow/stem cell donor process is like. You could be a miracle match and hero for someone in the registry today, tomorrow, or even many years down the line. If you have any questions for any part of this process, just send us an email at helpingjanet@gmail.com
Once you're informed and ready, there are several ways to register:
1) In-Person Drive
The best way is to attend an in-person bone marrow drive. It takes less time overall and there are many locations across the United States at churches, schools, museums, health fairs, etc.
Check out these monthly calendars for a location convenient and closest to you:
Northern California (Asian American Donor Program)
Southern California (Asians for Miracle Matches)
East Coast (Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation)
Hawaii (Hawaii Bone Marrow Registry) (TBA)
Washington State (Inland Northwest Blood Center) (TBA)
If you can't find one closest to you or live in another U.S. location, visit the National Marrow Donor Program. All you have to do is type in your zip code!
2) Order a Free Home-Mail Kit
Participate in the online drive and have a free cotton swab kit sent to your address.
You can register through AADP and they will send the kit out the same day they receive it

OR
Register through the NMDP using the promo code: SWAB4JANET
you can go to the following links. Either one works:

3) Visit a Dedicated Center
If you cannot attend a drive in person, you can stop by a dedicated center and register.

If you have an office and would like to become a dedicated center, please contact us.
Dedicated centers will:
Promote Helping Janet by allowing us to direct interested parties to their office to pick up a home registration test kit, and complete it in person or take it home. It takes roughly 10 minutes to fill out the form and 1-2 minutes to complete the self-test kit which consists of a cotton swab cheek test. A potential donor would only need to sit down in a lobby chair for a short time.
Allow your reception staff to be trained for 30-45 minutes so that they may answer questions from potential donors registering.
Place a flyer in your office that promotes Helping Janet and summarizes the marrow/stem cell donor registration process.
Collect and mail the completed self-test kits (all postage will be provided)
4) OR IF YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED
VERY IMPORTANT! If you have already registered, please make sure your contact information is current. You can confirm your records at http://www.marrow.org/DONOR/index.html
