What is more heartbreaking than to watch your child fighting for his or her life? The life you gave to her with your own flesh and blood?

We are like many immigrants in America who came to this country not for ourselves, but for the next generation's well-being. We came to the United States after waiting and finally Janet was born in Hawaii. 12 years later we decided to move to California. For her future, we hoped with all our hearts that she would be able to achieve her dreams by sacrificing our own ambitions.

Janet is very hardworking. She is still young with many dreams and schooling to finish. She hopes that what she learns will be able to help further the progress of this society. She knows that her friends and family are helping her, so she knows that she cannot let the cancer win. We were by her side witnessing every moment of her pain at the hospital, and we wish we could relieve all of it by assuming her entire disease rather than having her go through this. At one point her white blood counts dropped to 0.04 with nothing to defend her immune system. She would vomit every hour, the most severe time when her entire body would convulse every half hour. She could not sleep, she could not eat for nearly a week. This kind of pain and stress is difficult to endure for any normal person. But our daughter is still brave enough to fight it.

Our greatest need for Janet is to help her find a bone marrow/stem cell donor match to help her get rid of this disease. This kind of pain is never-ending for us until she becomes healthy again. If she does not find her match, she must go through more chemotherapy and pain until she finds it. We wonder how long sometimes it will take to find this match so her burden is finally uplifted.

But we are most appreciate of all the efforts you are all putting into this search. Our family extends our sincerest gratitude from the bottom of our hearts.
